Here is my big boy T on his first day of Grade 2, complete with broken arm. We have had to take in the laptop for him to use to do his writing as his cast has to be a full arm and wrist one to avoid him twisting it. So no writing for 6 weeks. The teacher was concerned about him falling behind ... so more homework for me to do, as well as to come in and help him scribe occasionally at school... Nanna might also be called on to help out!
Number 2 son, W, in his kindy shirt and the same hat T wore to kindy. Yes it is a bit daggy but I like the continuity idea with the hat. Day 1 no tears, Day 2 and 3 lots of tears on my departure unfortunately. But he is keen to go and enjoys it, it is just my leaving. But the teachers are wonderful and loving so I have no real concerns. Wonder how long it will take to have no tears however?
The new 'Thomas' backpack for kindy.
Not letting E steal any limelight. Poor little E. He desperately wants to go to kindy/school like his big brothers so each morning I have to pack a lunchbox for him and put it in a backpack so he can wear it and then have a picnic later in the morning. I hope he gets into some kind of daycare soon. Something that is uniquely his and his time. He is very brother-centric in all aspects of his life.
The showmen.
Forced smiles!
The lunches - carrot, popcorn, salami, kabana, cherry tomatoes, peaches, crackers and an apple each. I have had rave reviews of this lunch from T, and W's is all gone of an afternoon - so I am on a winner.
Story time at KIndy just before pick up. Pick up is at 2.45pm so I have to take the two littlies in the pram. In the humidity and heat, the two blocks feels like 2 miles!
On the first day of pickup they were both asleep, so I transferred both to the double pram successfully, walked all the way to kindy, went inside to pick up W (this photo taken from inside kindy) - they slept all the way home! Amazing!
