At our local C&K kindy, they make such a big deal and a special day of the children's birthdays. There is a special little house that holds the candle (saves spittle on birthday cakes!), a special hat (which William wore all day), special songs and games, along with other routines.

Here are my feeble attempt at cupcakes - no whole food baking here - good old sugar, butter and flour, with icing sugar and smarties. I really have not got the hang of the icing sugar, as you can see. But the kids loved them!
