So those who know me, will also know that cooking and me have not in the past been as one. In fact the memorable occasions of a) pumpkin soup all over kitchen walls and b) ham and pea soup all over walls (and behind spice racks, and tea tins etc) spring to mind.
D was the chef before children or should I say before LOTS of children. I did the dishes .... and I wasn't very good at them either - lots of rejections from drying up staff....
However when I really gave up paid work, the cooking naturally fell to me - given I was home when they needed the food and D wasn't it.
It was always a stress - but I was fortunate to have a tribe that like food. Not too fussy.
Now with Mr Gray (aka my Thermomix) cooking and food are now actually an outlet for me - an enjoyable outlet. I can make such yummy food so quickly and easily - I kind of want to do it all the time. I get a sense of peace and calm (sense only) when something is cooking or baking.
I am sure others love their Thermomix for different reasons - but the fact that cooking is now quick, easy and so successful every time (nearly) .... well it was the best $1939 I ever spent.
And D agrees - he says he likes the variety of food now - apparently I cooked spag bog, shep pie, lasagne a bit too often!! He never complained though - good man.
So some pictures below of my creations....
Home made toasted muesli with almond milk (home made from almonds - crazy concept)
Beef rendang curry - I think could be my best - and OMG so easy. Baby S especially loved it. T liked the pappadams as well.
The muesli - I could sell it at fetes.....! Or just eat it!
Six meals for dinner ..... every night ..... thank goodness for Mr Gray.
Pizza - healthiest pizza ever - I make nearly every day as a tide me over to dinner - along with the dips (did I mention the 30 sec dips that are so healthy, so yummy, so easy?!)
Bread rolls - look so cute.
Scones with jam (not made at home - but as soon as strawberries get a bit cheaper - I can make my own preserve - cool!) and whipped cream. You have never known the perfection of cream whipped like this - in less than a minute. Okay I know I am raving .... but honestly! For cream aficionados like Tom and I this is outstanding.
Scones! Like a pro... And you know my passion for tea - Devonshire tea - my place - WHENEVER you want!
And you've seen the Lemon Meringue Pie - imagine the pavlova I am going to make for T's birthday! His favourite!
