Because I can..... the things I love about my boys .... a list

(photo taken by Tom when he stole my iPhone!)

Damien Peter
1.  He is sexy and has the best body and he comes home to me EVERY NIGHT.
2.  He is generous - he never questions what I spend money on and is always supportive of what I spend money on - like over catering, and toys for the boys and educational products, and pedicures and our nanny ....
3.  He is kind - he will do anything if a friend asks.  He always wants to do right by people.
4.  He loves me for exactly who I am.  No other boyfriend/husband (!) has ever done that
5.  He is a role model for healthy living - exercise and eating.  He can also meditate the pants off me.  Without trying he can meditate for so long.  I am jealous.
6.  He is coachable.  He has his faults, does my Damo - but he is so good at acknowledging these and fessing up to them and trying to improve them.  I know no-one as coachable as him and thank goodness.  Imagine living with me and being uncoachable!
7.  He loves his boys, our boys.  Even when he is hating parenting, he loves our boys.
8.  He trusts my decisions about our boys.  Always.  I so love that about Damien.  I feel so supported in that.
9.  He has never ever questioned that my job is one hundred times harder than his.  He always comes home from work ready to relieve me.  He never ever asks what I did all day, or complains that he has had a tougher day.  Even when he has.
10.  He never ever complains about being tired anymore.  Even when he is so much more tired than he has ever been.  Love him to bits.

Thomas Francis
1.  He has the most beautiful caramel, hazel eyes and creamy, olive skin.  To die for.
2.  He is a sportaholic - to watch and play.  After my own heart.  He is naturally talented.
3.  He is so responsible at the most important moments.  When it is just me and the kids, Tom steps up without me asking.  He buckles them all into their seat belts, he plays with them and mollifies them if they are acting out, he holds Sammy in his lap while I finish something, even when Sammy is screaming.  Thank you my darling boy.
4.  He is great at housework and cooking. Laundry particularly.  He loves the Thermomix.
5.  He is so much  more relaxed and chilled than me.  He takes after his Dad in this.  He can truly relax and not have a care in the world.
6.  He loves ABBA and dancing.  In the mirror or in public.
7.  He is super affectionate.  He calls me Mummy and holds my hand and cuddles me all the time, whenever I want but more often when he wants.
8.  When he is happy, he lets everyone know.  He radiates joy.
9.  He loves maths and science and all things about the physics of this world.  A boy of my own heart.
10.  He laughs out loud when he reads.  Just like me.  Even in public.

William Glendower
1.  His smile lights up the world.  Truly.
2.  He can focus for such periods of time for his age that is amazing.  On things like his books, his puzzles and his colouring in.
3.  He loves to learn - he is so ready for school and literacy and numeracy.
4.  He is passionate.  He feels all of life's highs and lows so intensely.  I do see him as being an artist of some sort as a result.  A pop star even.  He would write amazing song lyrics with matching music.
5.  He loves our family and his brothers.  His world revolves around his brothers.
6.  He is so super organised and efficient.  He never needs reminding to get dressed or get ready to go out.  He thinks for himself.
7.  His abstract art work with the pastels Damien bought him makes me stop breathing.  It is amazing.
8.  He laughs from his stomach.  Especially when playing with Tom.
9.  When he wants to, he plays so well with Eddie - imaginative, creative play.  He is a little sponge for information (like volcanoes and tornadoes and shells and all sorts of other things he hears about)
10.  He has squishy cheeks that are so kissable and he loves to lie in and cuddle with me in bed.  He is a great sleeper now.

Edward James
1.  His blonde hair is beautiful and so soft.
2.  He is independent and stands up for himself all the time.
3.  He talks so well for his age - always has - so I know better than all the boys what he is thinking.  And it is gorgeous.
4.  He has such confidence in his brothers - he can go with them anywhere and not need me.  He is the glue that makes this family.
5.  He is so outgoing - he says hello to everyone and will talk to anyone.  He is so confident and sociable.
6.  He never tires.  He has more energy than any other creature I know.  How will he channel this? How lucky I am to find out what his future will hold!
7.  He loves passionately - particularly experiences - like going on trains or on buses.  Like doing special art activities at kindy.  Like playdough.  Like cooking and baking.  Like jumping in puddles with gum boots.  And he will tell me all about it.
8.  I love that I still have more than two years with him at home until school starts.  He seems ready for it now!  But we get to wait!  With William, school seems too soon.
9.  I love that Eddie is at his worst now - at two years old.  The terrible twos.  If you look up terrible twos in the paediatric encyclopaedia - there is a picture of Eddie.  It can only get easier!
10.  I love that Eddie gets to be a big brother and is not the youngest.  He is a great role model for resilience and strength for Sammy.

Samuel Miles
1.  That smile.  Even when he is the least of our thoughts, being held whilst doing something else, he turns to us and smiles.  Gummy smile that stretches across that gorgeous face.
2.  Those cheeks and pudgy body.  So kissable.
3.  That laughter when his brothers' laugh or when I kiss him on the tummy or neck.  Gutteral.
4.  Breastfeeding and those gorgeous looks just for me - that smile with a nipple still between his lips.  Those fuzzy hair strokes I do as he drifts off.  The happy hormones.  I love it all.
5.  His constant watching of everyone and everything.  His brothers.  The trees moving in the wind.  The cat.  Learning, learning, learning.
6.  His thumb sucking.  As baby four, you better learn to self settle pretty quickly - and he has.
7.  He is so chilled.  Can lie in his cot happily when he wakes.  Once again, baby number four - you become independent by default I think.  How exciting I get to see what he does with his life from here!
8.  The special Daddy looks - a charmer already.  Daddy doesn't do babies much, but Sammy works it!
9.  The growing - without me doing anything.  Unlike prior babies, this one gets no special attention.  And yet he has still learnt so much - it goes to show as parents we just need to love them - they can learn everything else on their own.  Why did I worry about milestones so much with number one?!
10.  He is my last baby and I cling to all his babydom.  Thank you to my iphone for allowing number four baby to have at least as many pictures as number one baby.  Plus this blog.  I shall not forget.

What an awesome feel good way to spend a rainy Monday night at the beach! xxxx
