Some days and weeks are so good even the horrible stuff pales. I love Tony Robbins and how if you think of something good - think big, think bright, think detailed... And if you remember something that is negative that you would rather forget, consciously remember it darker, smaller, blurry. That is how I feel my last few weeks have been!
December is a quiet month for Damien so we have had the luxury of his company more than normal. When we were home it meant coffees with me, trampoline and/or pool for the kids in the morning, as well as help and company in the evenings. I would love to have him around all the time. It is seems it is common to want to send younger kids away to school, or not have your husband around - but I love having them around all the time!
Mind you the Saturday before we left for Melbourne, I escaped with Tom to cricket, then went shopping on my own and got my nails done on my own! Wow. Love shellac nails! Wish I could afford it every month but was really a Christmas treat for me.
Last week in Brisbane was very social and fabulous! We had our "village" that raises our children - nanny, manny, house cleaner and tennis coach and their partners for brunch - we ended up singing Christmas carols around the piano! Then Christmas at Damien's parents in the afternoon. Then we had friends for BBQ on Wednesday with the kids all in the pool at 8pm. Busy but I wouldn't change a thing.
Finally Friday morning I thought about getting ready to leave for Melbourne - at 6pm that night!! Packing, cleaning. With help for Damien's mum and dad we got away! We drove to Dubbo through the night, pretty comfortably except for the 100km before Coonabarabran where every kangaroo in Australia was crossing the road! Hit one but I'd slowed right down so no casualties.
